A rain sheet is a waterproof turnout rug with a lining but no polyester fill. Rugs sold as 0g are the same thing.
It keeps rain off the coat so a horse stays dry and holds its own body heat. That is often all a healthy horse needs on a wet, mild day.
When to Use a Rain Rug
Rain sheets fill the gap between summer and winter rugs.
