Breyer Traditional The Phantom & Misty

Misty has been around for 75 years.

The classic book Misty of Chincoteague will be 75 years old in 2022. Misty of Chincoteague was the first in a long series of books about Chincoteague ponies written by award-winning author Marguerite Henry. It was illustrated by Wesley Dennis.

Since it was first published in 1947, it has always been in print. It quickly became a classic story that has inspired horse lovers for many years and led many people to visit the beautiful island of Chincoteague, Virginia. It tells the story of two young brothers and sisters from Chincoteague, Virginia, who fell in love with a wild pony named the Phantom. The Phantom's foal, Misty, would change their lives forever.

The artist Chris Hess made the first sculptures of Misty and Stormy in the 1970s. They show the Phantom and Misty as a cute couple.

Even more special is the fact that this is the first time Breyer has made models of the Phantom and Misty as a foal.
