The Canny Collar is a comfortable no-pull dog headcollar designed to help train dogs that pull on the lead. Its patented behind-the-head design gives you greater control without pulling your dog's head to one side, helping you teach calm, loose-lead walking using a gentle pressure-and-release technique.
Helps train your dog to stop pulling
When your dog pulls, gentle pressure is applied across the bridge of the nose. As soon as your dog stops pulling and the lead loosens, the pressure is released. This helps your dog learn that walking calmly beside you on a loose lead is more comfortable.
Praise or treats can be used to positively reinforce good walking behaviour. The Canny Collar is a training aid rather than a quick fix, helping you develop better walking habits together.
Behind-the-head design for greater control
Unlike many headcollars where the lead attaches beneath the chin, the Canny Collar attaches behind your dog's head. This applies lead pressure straight back rather than pulling the head sideways.
The design also helps prevent the noseband riding up towards your dog's eyes and makes it much more difficult for your dog to get a paw over the lead and pull the noseband off.
Comfortable for your dog
The Canny Collar has a generously padded collar and a soft, single noseband that self-adjusts to the shape of your dog's muzzle.
With the lead loose, your dog can open their mouth freely to breathe, pant and drink. There are no complicated straps around the face and the collar fastens around the neck like a conventional dog collar.
Easy to fit and use
Simply fasten the collar around your dog's neck, attach your lead to both D-rings and place the noseband over the muzzle.
The Canny Collar is available in seven sizes for neck measurements from 23–58cm, with four colours to choose from. For dogs with a neck measurement over 58cm, the heavier-duty Canny Colossus is available for giant breeds.
From headcollar to regular collar
The removable noseband makes it easy to transition your dog towards walking on a conventional collar and lead as their loose-lead walking improves.
For off-lead exercise, remove the noseband from your dog's muzzle and secure it beneath the chin using the supplied carabiners. This allows the Canny Collar to remain comfortably in place while your dog is off lead.
The Canny Collar is designed to be worn when walking, training and when your dog is let off lead temporarily. It is not a substitute for your dog’s regular collar. Never attach your lead to the carabiners.
